    Ido Mizrahy / Foreign Language / United States / 2015 / 75 mins
Antonio Barrera is the most gored bullfighter in modern history, and known to perform with total abandonment. He’s been gored twenty three times, an unusually high number that includes seventeen surgeries, countless broken bones and scars. Now with a family to support, a body that won’t hold up and a lack of interest from promoters, Barrera has decided to retire. Before his last bullfight, he is conflicted. After taking such a beating all his life, he dreams of staying alive for his family. Yet he still fantasizes of becoming a well-known bullfighter, a dream that he and his father shared since he was a young boy, and to do that he feels he must sacrifice himself to the bulls. Will he survive his final performance?

  2. Harlequin

    Matteo Bini / Foreign Language / Italy / 2014 / 90 mins
Winner of the Prix du Public at Les Rencontres du Cinéma Italien at Toulouse, "Harlequin" is an engrossing, entertainingly charming new Italian film about rediscovering what’s important in life. Matinee idol Paolo Milesi has it all: looks, women, money, his own popular daytime TV show. But his perfect world begins to crumble when his aging, estranged father — like Paolo, an actor, though with a classical theater troupe rather than a TV network — is reported to be in critical health. Paolo rushes to his home town only to find the old actor stubbornly rehearsing to perform his beloved Commedia dell’Arte character Harlequin, a soulful, miming clown, one last time. As the old wounds of their difficult relationship are reopened, the magical world of Commedia dell’Arte begins to seduce Paolo, and make him question his own superficial existence.

  3. My Golden Days

    Arnaud Desplechin / Foreign Language / France / 2015 / 120 mins
"My Golden Days" is the story of Paul Dédalus, an anthropologist preparing to leave Tajikistan (played in his middle age by Matheiu Amalric). Reflecting on his life, he has a series of flashbacks starting from his childhood in Roubaix—his mother’s attacks of madness, his father’s alienating depression. He remembers a student trip to the USSR, where a clandestine mission led him to offer up his own identity for a young Russian, whom he considered a phantom twin for the remainder of his life. He remembers University life, and returning to his hometown to party with his sister and her best friend, his shifting circle of friends and their casual betrayals. And most of all he remembers Esther, the beautiful, rude, haughty soul and love of his life.

  4. Rams

    Grímur Hákonarson / Foreign Language / Denmark, Iceland / 2015 / 93 mins
In a secluded valley in Iceland, Gummi and Kiddi live side by side, tending to their sheep but have not spoken to each other in four decades. When a lethal disease suddenly infects Kiddi’s sheep, the entire valley comes under threat. The authorities decide to cull all the animals in the area to contain the outbreak. This is a near death sentence for the farmers, whose sheep are their main source of income, and many abandon their land. But Gummi and Kiddi don’t give up so easily—and each brother tries to stave off the disaster in his own fashion: Kiddi by using his rifle and Gummi by using his wits. As the authorities close in, the brothers will need to come together to save the special breed passed down for generations, and themselves, from extinction.
